(1): [3*x^2*(x-2) - x + 2] / (x-2) = [3*x^2*(x-2) - (x-2)] / (x-2) = [(x-2)*(3*x^2 - 1)] / (x-2) = 3*x^2 - 1
Remember that -a + b = - (a - b)
(2): (x + y) / (xy) = 1
[(x+y) * (1/y)] / [(xy) * (1/y)] = 1
(x/y + 1) / x = 1
x/y + 1 = x
x/y = x-1
y/x = 1/(x-1)
y = x/(x-1)
P.S.: simple use of rule a / b = (a * c) / (b * c), c !=0
