Dear Friends & Experts
I am planning for an MBA next fall and would like to know how good my chances are.
Academics:
Undergrad: B.Tech in Materials & Metallurgical Engineering, Batch of 2008, IIT Bombay (Mumbai, India)
CGPA 6.65/10
Senior secondary: 84%
Secondary : 91%
Won many awards and accolades such as Best Student Award, Best Singer, Principal's Medal etc. at school level.
Job Profile:
Over 3 years of work experience in Project Coordination, Contracts Management, Project Cost Control, Procurement Coordination, Operations Strategy Formulation and Organizational Development with an Indian multinational Steel company
- Handled assignments in Project Management for a huge capital integrated Steel Plant Project at India
- Diverse expsosure to Planning, Scheduling, Monitoring, Commissioning and Process Stabilization of integrated Steel Plant projects
- Worked closely with technlogy suppliers (domenstic and international) regarding technical and commercial issues, design and engineering team, project procurement team and on-site project executing construction team for scheduled completion and commissioning of India's one of the largest single location steel plant
- Worked directly with the Country Head, Projects of the firm in the Project Strategy Group
- Rated with "Performance Exceeds Expectations" for 3 consecutive years
- Started my career as a senior engineer and moved up to become deputy manager and then manager within a short span of 3 years
- Managing a team of 2 analysts
GMAT: 2 attempts
600 - Q48/V 24/AWA 5.5
560 - Q49/V20/AWA 5
I understand that I have very low GMAT scores, that too the second attempt being the lower. Is it okay to take it again or is the current score good enough with my profile to get admission in some good reputed B-school. Do you think taking a third attempt can have a negative impact on my profile?
I have selected few MBA colleges and would like to know what my chances at these colleges are:
Can I expect something in the following colleges?
1) Schulich
2) Rotman
3) EADA, Barcelona
4) Moore School, South Carolina
5) Leeds Univ B School, UK
6) Krannert, Purdue
7) Univ of Notre Dame, Mendoza School of Business, USA
8) Fuqua, Duke
9) Hough Graduate School, Florida, USA
Kindly suggest some good US B-schools where I stand a chance.
Rakesh Kumar
