I took the GMAT a couple days back. I'm about to start on applications now.
HBS and Sloan have always been on my mind. I'd like to get an idea on where I stand with respect to these two schools.
My profile briefly:
* GMAT: 740 (Q51 V39)
* Undergrad degree from University of Washington. Majored in Computer Science. GPA: 3.55
* Work Experience: Software developer at a large software company for almost 4 years. A few part-time internships while in college.
* Almost nil when it comes to extra-curriculars / leadership activities. My life centers around my job mostly. I did some volunteer work last year during spare time but very little.
* Originally from India but living in the US since the last seven years.
I was also pondering about taking the GMAT in a month given that:
1. I realize that the lack of extra-curricular activities is going to substantially hurt my application. May be a high GMAT score (760?) would compensate a bit.
2. I feel confident that in a month's time, I can score 760. But of course, there's always a risk of scoring lower than my current 740.
I'm confused at the moment. Any insights with respect to the two schools and my profile are appreciated.[/list]
