Please help evaluate for Sloan

I took the GMAT a couple days back. I'm about to start on applications now.

HBS and Sloan have always been on my mind. I'd like to get an idea on where I stand with respect to these two schools.

My profile briefly:
* GMAT: 740 (Q51 V39)
* Undergrad degree from University of Washington. Majored in Computer Science. GPA: 3.55
* Work Experience: Software developer at a large software company for almost 4 years. A few part-time internships while in college.
* Almost nil when it comes to extra-curriculars / leadership activities. My life centers around my job mostly. I did some volunteer work last year during spare time but very little.
* Originally from India but living in the US since the last seven years.

I was also pondering about taking the GMAT in a month given that:
1. I realize that the lack of extra-curricular activities is going to substantially hurt my application. May be a high GMAT score (760?) would compensate a bit.
2. I feel confident that in a month's time, I can score 760. But of course, there's always a risk of scoring lower than my current 740.

I'm confused at the moment. Any insights with respect to the two schools and my profile are appreciated.[/list]

my advice - do not re-take the GMAT! spend your time doing other things (working on essays). a 740 vs 760 at HBS or Sloan will not make a difference by any means. regarding your profile... it seems pretty standard. think about how man other applicants have that profile. here is the profile i'm talking about - simplified.

GMAT: High Score
Undergrad: Good School
Major: Not uncommon for business school
Work Experience: Not uncommon for business school
Extra-curriculars: None
Country: India

The real question, the one that would be more compelling, is: Why should HBS or Sloan choose you over the others?
My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.

What? Only a 740?
Ahhh, just kidding.
So, you mean you are already above the average for every business school???
I think that's high enough!

A 760 will not get you in any more than a 740. Now would be the time to work on other aspects of your profile (getting ahead at work being the most important, or if you are applying now, your essays...)
