It's a good one.
we need to find a value from the answer options, which if subtracted from Ann's total and added to Cal's total will produce an overall median value of 330,000.
check from the answer options.
A,B,C won't produce a 330,000 value to any of Ann's or Cal's totals after doing the above operation of adding to ann's total and subtracting from Cal's total.
D results in:
Ann's total = 450,000-120,000 = 330,000
Cal's total = 190,000+120,000 = 310,000
The median of all the five values = 330,000, which is right

Actually, at this point we can fix up on option "D" and need not check for option "E". But for the sake of interest, we check option E

Ann's total = 450,000-140,000 = 310,000
Cal's total = 190,000+140,000 = 330,000
The median of all the five values = 330,000, which is also right but in this case, Cal's total is more than Ann's, which should not be.

Answer "D"
