Johnny wants to buy some candy with the nickels and quarters that his mother gave him. How many quarters does he have?

(1) The total value of Johnny's coins is 85 cents.
(2) Johnny has more quarters than nickels in his pocket.
Philosophers have interpreted world in various ways, the point is to change it!

Agree with the above post- answer should be C. Just wanted to add that this is clearly a question from a test prep company book. The GMAT will *not* assume that all test-takers are familiar with the denominations of US coins- you don't need to know that a nickel is worth 5 cents.
