Copper Wire

A copper wire when bent in the form of a square encloses an area of 121 sq. cm .If the same wire is bent in the form of a circle ,find the area enclosed by it.

(A)11 sq. cm
(B)121 sq. cm
(C)134 sq. cm
(D)141 sq. cm
(E)154 sq. cm.

side of the square = sqrt(121) =11
Perimeter = 44 cm

radius of the circle with perimeter 44 cm = 44/(2*pi) = 44/(2*22/7) = 7

area of the circle with 7 radius = pi*7^2 = (22/7)*7*7 = 154 sq cm

a^2 =121 --> a =11 perimeter of square = 11x4 = 44 cm.
so length of copper wire = 44 cm
so r of circle = (44/2(pi).) = (22/( 22/7)) = 7 cm , area = pi[ 7^2] = 22x7x7/7 = [spoiler]154cm2 Ans E[/spoiler]
