Following is a dialogue that took place at a mall X between two colleagues A and B:

Andy: Whenever I come to shop with my wife at our favorite Westside apparel store of mall X, I have seen you there on almost every visit.
Bill: Really? I too am a regular visitor and a loyal customer of the Westside brand, but whenever I have been there with my wife and children, I have seen you approximately once in five visits only. After all, the Westside store is a mini store capable of accommodating very few customers at the same time.

Assuming both the colleagues are speaking the truth, which of the following can be most logically inferred?

A. Andy visits mall X with his wife only, whereas Bill visits the mall with both his wife and
children.
B. The Westside store at Mall X is the most frequently visited apparel store by Andy and Bill
at mall X.
C. Andy is a better observer as he noticed Bill on almost every visit as compared to Bill, who
observed Andy at the mall in only 20 percent of his visits.
D. Bill visits the Westside apparel store at Mall X more frequently than Andy does.
E. The Westside store, being a mini store is mostly visited by loyal customers of Westside when
they visit Mall X.

In these types of inference questions, it's important to be clear on what you know and what you DON'T know. The correct answer will logically extend from the information in the prompt. Sometimes an inference can be based on one word, one sentence or a combination of sentences, so it can sometimes be tough to predict the correct answer.

The Facts:
-Andy sees Bill at the Westside apparel store almost every time that Andy visits.
-Bill sees Andy at the Westside apparel store rarely (about 1 in every 5 visits).
-The Westside apparel store is a mini store, so it can accommodate only a few customers at the same time.

The Logic:
Since the store is so small, it would be unlikely for two people to be in the store at the same time and NOT notice one another, so we have to infer that each person would notice the other if they were both in the store at the same time. Next, we have to think about frequency. Is it possible that both Andy and Bill go to this store the same number of times? Not likely. If they both went the same number of times, then they would see each other during the same percentage of visits and THAT didn't happen (Andy sees Bill most times, Bill sees Andy only 20% of the time). Logically, Bill must be going to the store much more often than Andy. This logically fits each man's frequency of spotting the other. The correct answer D presents this idea.

As bill sees andy everytime he comes but andy sees im only once in 5 visits of his, suggests that andy visits the store more frequently than bill.
