Multiple problems with A:
1) comma missing after David Foster Wallace - required to show that "the author of the massive novel Infinite Jest and one of the greatest living novelists until his death in late 2008" is a non-essential modifier
2) who is subject of WROTE - is it David Foster Wallace OR novelists (USE OF COMMA WILL ELIMINATE THIS PROBLEM)
3) WHOSE refers to inanimate objects as well but here it could refer to both David Foster Wallace AND novelists
