Legislation in the Canadian province of Ontario requires of both public and private employers that pay be the same for jobs historically held by women as for jobs requiring comparable skill that are usually held by men.

(A) that pay be the same for jobs historically held by women as for jobs requiring comparable skill that are
(B) that pay for jobs historically held by women should be the same as for a job requiring comparable skills
(C) to pay the same in jobs historically held by women as in jobs of comparable skill that are
(D) to pay the same regardless of whether a job was historically held by women or is one demanding comparable skills
(E) to pay as much for jobs historically held by women as for a job demanding comparable skills

IMO A

Requires that - correct , C, D and E are out
Jobs are held by men, not the comparable skills, hence B is out

IMO A

X requires that Y do something
CDE out.

Job needs to modify men, not Comparable skills
B out.

pick A

Require can be used in the following ways:

=> requires that XX be YY.
=> Requires XX to do YY.

My question is when should we use "requires XX to do YY" and "requires that XX be YY"?

How can we be sure that here, "requires that XX be YY" has been used?

What is the problem in C besides the issue of "requires XX to do YY"?

Thanks/

I have a doubt here.

Requires use both that and infinitive("to").The syntax is

Require+that+Subject+Command subjunctive

Require+subject+Infinitive

Is "requires of both public and private employers" correct?

It should be "requires both public and private employers"..rt?

Only A and C are good contenders

C is out, because it lacks object. It says,

to pay [Whom????] the same in jobs historically held by women as [Whom????] in jobs of comparable skill that are

C is very confusing
