A member PM'ed me today to let me know that this website has been performing slowly lately--I'm wondering whether other people have been feeling the same way?

Please let me know, thanks!

Other similar websites are much slow than btG.

But maybe, the site might have become slower than earlier time, because of heavy traffic and constant additions to new posts. I am not sure about this since I seldom visit forums lately. :?

Eric! Dnt mind I am interfering here! To me, this site works fine. But I generally use office connection not any domestic dial-up or broadband connection. May be that member(Who has PMed u) is having some problem with the connection! :D
Correct me If I am wrong

Regards,

Amitava

Thanks for the comments--yeah, unfortunately it's pretty much a requirement to have a broadband connection to use this site. Seems to be a requirement with other websites though, more and more...

Thanks for the feedback Johny! I'm glad that the browsing experience on dial up isn't too bad.

How are people feeling about the speed of this website these days? I think we may need to upgrade servers soon to handle all the bandwidth we're getting. :)

Perhaps it is because too many people visit the site

Yes :( the site has become ttttooooo SLOW.

hmmm I am not exaggerating here. But since I have come back (a week or so) I have observed that the site has become too slow to keep me hooked

Eric, I think we gotta do something about it. :?

It's not working as earlier... taking too much time to load any thread..... seriously.

Now the site runs smooth.
I dont know the reason but now its working perfectly all right on my (pathetic 33kbps dial up ) connection :D
