I dont know how to make matrix in text but I'll try

Only A Only B Both A anb B
Read X 500/2 500

Total who read A = X + 500
Total who read B = 500/2 + 500 = 750

As per question. X+500 = 2 * 750
X=1000

the matrix is confusing...so i usually use the venn diagram

A= 2* B

read both A and B= 500

500= 2 * (read only B)

500/2= people who read only b= 250

read b= 250+500= 750

read A= 2 * 750= 1500

Read only A 1500-500= 1000
