Thanks for your email. You have a good profile, one that will be marketable to b-schools. Adcoms love engineers, since they have very little concern about their ability to handle the academics, and certainly your GMAT and undergrad performance would speak to this as well. Your GPA is quiet impressive particularly given your major since b-schools will often give a little more slack on GPA to engineer majors since they know good marks are harder to come by. CLearly no concession is necessary in your case. Additionally, you have real leadership experience, leading a team of professionals. This is something for which there is very little to substitute if you don't have it and something that adds tremendously to classroom discussions and overall perspective on business and decision making. Of course what you have working against you is the sheer size of the applicant pool. Good that you are not IT, but there are still throngs of Indian applicants with high GPAs and good GMAT scores, leadership experience, etc. Also, there are very few scholarships given to candidates like you since the schools are not very motivated to attract candidates with your qualifications (because they already have more such applicants than they know what to do with). Typically scholarships are going to go to applicants who are harder to replace, and to those whom the adcoms do not want to see go somewhere else. To make matters worse, many US based schools do not award scholarships to international students. You might check into some European or Asian schools to see if there is some scholarship availability. Beyond that, you might see if you can find a scholarship which is designed to award someone specifically in your line of work. Often when scholarships have heavy restrictions, they have a harder time finding someone who qualifies. If you get lucky enough to find one designed for your background, you may be in luck. There is no easy way to find this information other than contacting the schools directly. Also make sure you apply in Round 1, which is where most if not all the scholarships are awarded/offered. As for which specific schools, there is really no way to guide you without a more thorough analysis. 40% or so of b-school grads do consulting, so most if not all b-schools will prepare you for a consulting career. You might try working backwards, and staring with a list of companies where you would like to work, then finding out where these companies go to recruit MBAs. A phone interview with a school's career services center would not be a bad idea. I always recommend going to the best school you can get into, and with your qualifications, you should definitely add a couple or more top 10 schools into the mix. Make yourself stand out by revealing unique personal qualities and passions that only you can claim. Think about how you are different than someone else who has the exact or similar background as you--why should they choose you over them? Thinking this way will get you oriented towards standing out from the crowd. Hope this helps.

For Energy, i'd look at Duke, Rice, UT Austin. For TEchnology consulting, of course there's Sloan, Haas, Anderson, Georgia Tech.
