Hi All,

I am soon start my preparation for GMAT. i am planning to give GMAT in April last week or First week of May 2012 because application deadline of my dream college is on May 30,2012.
Please help me to make my strategy:

I have :

1- I have Xerox copy of OG-11.
2-I can put 3 hours daily.
3-I am novice, will start from basics because i am not good in calculation and no good vocabulary.
4-IMS book of English word-meaning( There are more than 1000 words).
5- Collection of 5000 Words and their meaning.

Please suggest me that :
1-Should i read business magazine, newspapers as well because i can't allow additional hours?
2-I am living in small town of India. Is there any other book really required because it will be difficult to get additional books but i have Internet access.
3-Should i watch News channels(Business channels, International Channels(BBC, CNN)..Reason again time requirement?

In waiting your valuable feedback
Ian Lavis

Hi there!

Unfortunately, you'll need more than the OG11. I would suggest also getting the OG12, MGMAT Sentence Correction, Powerscore CR, and MGMAT Number Properties. Those 4 books should be all you'll need.

Since you're online, here are the resources I suggest:

Mba.com - The official website for GMAT. Download the free GMATPrep software and take the two adaptable free GMAT practice tests. You'll want to go over these GMAT questions with a fine tooth comb. For $29, you can download three additional GMAT tests with "retired" test questions. There are also some other excellent free GMAT resources, such as two large pdf files containing all of the Topics for the AWA section, excellent GMAT practice for the Issue and Argument essays.

Grockit.com - (Full discloure -- I work for Grockit, and I love it!) A trial membership is free, but an upgrade is needed to take full advantage of all of our products. We have an extensive adaptable GMAT question bank (containing thousands of GMAT practice questions), with Skill Data, a Study Plan, Targeted Practice, and reviews/explanations for all our GMAT test questions. https://www.grockit.com/gmat/products

BeattheGMAT.com - You already know about this one, but I'd suggest you look at the huge library of GMAT blogs categorized by topic (https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/free-gma ... flashcards). There are also free GMAT Error Logs to download, which are essential (https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/gmat-error-log). This is the best GMAT forum on the web. :-)

GMATClub.com - Another large number of free GMAT questions. Not as comprehensive or as user-friendly as Beat the GMAT, but users here have compiled an impressive online free GMAT Math Book nicely organized by category. https://gmatclub.com/forum/gmat-math-book-87417.html

Manhattan GMAT's GMAT Uncovered - A free downloadable file containing a free overview of the GMAT, some test-taking strategies, and another Free GMAT test. There is also free advice for MBA admissions and applications. https://www.manhattangmat.com/gmat-uncovered.cfm

URCH.com - Although not as flashy as GMATClub or Beat the GMAT, you will find a lot of free GMAT test questions posted and discussed in these forums, as well as sticky posts containing information on free GMAT strategy and free GMAT vocab improvement. https://www.urch.com/forums/gmat/

Grammar Slammer - A no-nonsense how-to guide explaining the most common English grammar errors. Excellent free GMAT grammar help to achieve better scores in SC. https://englishplus.com/grammar/contents.htm

Platinum GMAT Idiom List - A pdf file on ALL the Idioms found in the 11th & 12th editions of the GMAT Official Guide. And excellent free GMAT Idioms list! https://www.platinumgmat.com/about_gmat/ ... m_list.pdf

And yes, definitely read, write, and listen to as much high quality English-language programs and periodicals as you can!
