GMAT Friday January 7

by hardwork24 » Sat Jan 01, 2011 7:19 pm
New user here that wanted some insight from the experienced GMAT'ers...

I have been studying for about a month. Did the Kaplan book and about 2/3 of the Official Guide.

Took my first practice today (gmat prep) and scored 650 under ideal test conditions with the essays. I did not finish the last 3 questions on math (not sure how much my score was affected by not guessing). Missed 9 on math and missed 11 on verbal.

I desperately need a 700. I was planning on taking another practice tomorrow and maybe on or two more during the week. Also plan to do as many more of the OG as possible.

I have not studied any of the essay strategies. I planned on covering this Thursday evening and Friday morning (test is 4pm).

Thoughts on reaching 700? Any tips?...I have read through some posts for general tips. Do I need to spend more time on the essay techniques?

Any feedback is much appreciated...

Can you make yourself clearer ? You said that you got missed three questions on Maths and then you say that you missed 9 questions ?

You're quite short on time so I don't think we here can help you out much.
The only thing you can control now is the test anxiety . Make sure that you try to remain calm during the test. It's easier said than done. But if you're able to do that, then I think you may land up with a good score.
All the best!

Just go through the essay templates and I think you should be good to go. I am assuming that you are fairly good at writing.I'd advise you to focus on the tests. Take 2-3 tests more, but not more than that if you're taking the test on 7th.
Just relax on 6th. Don't push yourself too hard.

If your current prep score is 650, I would reschedule until you have reached at least 700, if not higher.
Yep.
