I recently scored a 720 on the GMAT and I am planning to apply to some top schools, in the first round (HBS, Chicago, Kellog, etc.) for the fall of 2010. Please review the following information and let me know if you have any advice. Thank you in advance.
General Info:
Male
24
US citizen
Education:
University of Michigan
BSE Industrial and Operations Engineering
3.4 (Major and Overall)
Cum Laude
GMAT
720 (95th percentile)
48 quant (84th percentile)
42 verbal (95th percentile)
Professional Experience
2 years at a financial firm in New York City with exposure to Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities, Collaterelized Loan Obligations, and special projects related to structured finance
In college I was involved in various Industrial Engineering clubs as well as my fraternity (though minimally). Since then, now living in NYC, I am beginning to volunteer and spend my time playing in flag football leagues.
I know now that it looks like I am just beginning to volunteer because I am applying to business school, but does that make any less sense than having nothing on my resume at all?
I have differentiated myself at work and believe I will have strong LOR.
Thank you for your help!
