AWA length

What is the decent length of AWA?
I know longer is better, and we can try to achieve close to it if we know about it. I started with 90 min for each and then slowly reduced to 30 min now. It does affect length obviously. I am close to about 400 words (no spaces). Is there a standard on that?

I have trouble thinking about it in number of words, since you don't want to sit there counting on test day! My rule of thumb is that you should aim for four paragraphs (intro, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion) of four or five sentences each. If you can write a fifth paragraph (i.e., another body paragraph), all the better.
