I would agree to the later part of the argument. Prior to development of mass media, Information and news used to be made available via Radio. Development of Mass media in India started in 30s with the then famous channel DD i.e. Doordarshan. Both Radio and TV imparted same information but the major difference was that, TV provided the visuals with pictures in motion. This not only helped to understand the situation around the world but was a major breakthrough on the development of many things for example, Cinema, Theatre etc.

In today's world Mass media has a major role in development of intellectual capability of youngsters. Major reason being instant access to the information and latest development in technologies and breakthrough innovations around the world. It has helped to understand different cultures and customs around the world. Development of Cinema and theatre is one of the major developments till date. Instant sharing of News has made today's youth aware about the latest happenings around the globe. To name a few examples, Apples launch of I gadgets, TATA Nano launch, 3G network launch, Sep 11 attacks on Twin towers, Mumbai blast, Japan earthquake, Tsunami, Olympics, World cup FIFA, Cricket world cup, Wimbeldon Tennis, PGS golf cup, etc. are some of the stories that have effected the world in some or the other way.

Now let us go through some of the examples which will explain how Mass media development has really helped. A famous programme used to be broadcasted on weekends on Discovery channel named MAN V/S WILD. In that Edward Michael "Bear" Grylls the anchor used to explain and demonstrated live how to face a critical situation and how to overcome them by use of simple methods. In one of the episodes he demonstrated live how to survive in a cold region like Antarctica when one is stuck in the ice with A TEMPERATURE BELOW -10 degree Celsius. A similar situation was encountered by Harry Peterson of Chicago when he along with his family went out for a picnic on a winter morning. He got stuck in the ice and then he remembered how he can survive in cold water as he regularly watched Edward's Programme on TV. He simply kept his body moving, shook his legs a little bit which kept his body moving and warm.

This is just one of the examples which explain how a TV programme can save ones life. Today, many programmes have come up which demonstrate similar surviving tactics in critical situations. Many reality dance, singing shows have come up which has given exposure to youngsters on major platform. Exposure via media has a stimulating effect on the masses. Recent example is the Anti corruption drive by Mr. Anna Hazare in India against corruption. Exposure of media helped the movement to gain impetus and finally created awareness among the youth about how to use democratic powers. In short without support of Media a mass movement on such a major scale could not have been possible or even if it would have been possible but not successful since today's youth unlike earlier generation is more in touch with the media.

Programmes like Bourn vita Quiz contest, Words Bee on Discovery, I never knew How it works , Big Bigger biggest, How things work, are tv programmes which not only imparts knowledge about latest technologies among youth but also develops an interest in them. In my point of view Media has in fact helped us to understand things around us. We get instant information about what's happening around the world. So people who think that growth of mass media have stopped the mind of people from being creative; should think again. Every thing has its good and bad effects but some bad effects can be ignored for some major good effects. It depends on how you use the information provided by Mass media. So ending this analysis I would say, go back and checkout what's new happening around you, may be you will find something very interesting which you always thought to be a boring topic in your school and college days. Reinvent your thinking.

At start of each paragraph always give a hint of what is there to come.At first, on contrary etc...Start your sentences with those defining words to give the bots an idea.

Overall your writing is good. A 5 for me.

Keep it up.

Mass media is media that is intended for a large audience. It may take the form of broadcast media, as in the case of television and radio, or print media, like newspapers and magazines. Internet media can also attain mass media status, and many media outlets maintain a web presence to take advantage of the ready availability of Internet in many regions of the world. i think Mass media research topics will help you to know more about the topic.
