In this age of automation, many people complain that humans are becoming subservient to machines. But, in fact, machines are continually improving our lives.
Machines have become the walking sticks of our lives. We are getting used to automation in every aspect of our life. We have become dependent upon the machines for every task we do and thus humans rely more on machines than on their own selves. I agree that in the computer age, humans stick to using machines and are becoming compliant on them. But I am of the opinion that machines are improving our lives.
Right from children to old people use machines these days. Home makers have micro waves, refrigerators, washing machines that have made their life simpler. We have professional lap tops and computers that help us store information. We have search engines that have made our search simpler. We can search anything that we want and everything is just available with the click of a button. Parents and grandparents of children who have gone abroad to study or work can get a glimpse of their children on the web cam, where they can see them as and when they wish to. We can avail so many facilities online. These days even entertainment doesn't mean like going to cinema theaters, but we can relax n watch our favorite movie on LCD television. We have Face Book, Twitter, where we can write down our thoughts and express our feelings. We also have facilities of birthday and anniversary reminders on our mobile phone which has made life simpler.
I do agree that machines have made human beings more dependent upon them, because we are losing personal touch to everything. There was huge amount of letters that were exchanged on festivals and greetings happened by get-togethers. However these days, we send even the wedding invites through internet. A great deal of things has changed. The world is becoming a conservative place where gadgets have overpowered human sentiments. It is true that automation has created a society of slaves, but we cannot overlook the positives of machines and their endless contributions to human life.
