Many people think that every human action is inspired by selfish reasons others think that actions inspired by selflessness do not depict selfishness. The issue is a controvertial one but a closer examination reveals that human nature dictates actions which are not always inspired by selfish reasons for several reasons.
One reason is many people are there who work for the well being of others keeping aside there personal benefits. For example, Political leaders such as George Washington and Mahatma Gandhi, to name just two. Both George Washington and Mahatma Gandhi dedicated their lives for the greater good of society and for the well being of the entire society. George Washington worked for the betterment of america and american people and Mahatma Gandhi, who fought to abolish racism had no personal motives behing their actions. Furthurmore, their work depicts that they spent their lives for the citizens of their nation keeping their personal benefits aside.
Clearly, to say that every human cation is governed by some selfish reason is not true.
Another reason is that, many people in past and in present are working to discover new concepts and theories to help the society in better undersatnding it world. To illustrate, the scientists and reserchers who are working in labs work continuously to discover new aspects of this world which we do not understand clearly. For example, Newton and enistine who explained the reasons behind the phenomenons which occur in this word. For instance, Newton explained the laws of motion and the famous enistine equation, e = mc^2. There findings were not a result of some selfish reason but were result of there dedication to understand and to educated the people about the actions and phenomenons which are persent in this world. As a result, we have a scientific approach in evaluating problems rather than blindly beliving everything.
Third and perhaps te best reason is, because of few selfish people who pretend to be selfless and who are actually selfish has created a doubt and unsurety among people about the motives and actions of peoples. Specifically, these are those people who are wolfes in a sheeps clothing. Moreover, these people have have done more harm to the society than good. In fact, these are the ones who have tarnished the image of people who are selfless. Therefore, people have become secptical about the motives of everyone and look at their intentions as selfish.

Certainly, not everyone is same but the intentions of those who work for the society should not be undermined.
