Hi,
I would appreciate it if anyone can evaluate my analysis of issue.
Employers should have no right to obtain information about their employees' health or other aspects of their personal
lives without the employees' permission."
The issue of employee privacy is controversial. Some argue that employers have the right to obtain information about their employees' health and employees' personal lives without the employees' permission. However, I tend to agree that employers should not be allowed to access their employees' personal lives or health information without employees' permission.
The main reason for my view is that every employee in a company has the right of privacy. Their right of privacy would be invaded if employers had access to their health or personal life information. For example, if an employer had to access to an employee's health information who has heart disease he or she may be denied of health insurance and may also be fired from the company because it costs company to keep that employee. The second
The second reason for my view is that if employers had access to employees' personal lives information results in job discrimination. For example, if any employee is gay and the employer finds out about this he may get discriminated in the work environment which is against the law. This might be true if an employee is married or single or has certain religion.
In conclusion, I think that because of employee right of privacy and right of non-discrimination in the work environment the employers should not have access to employees' health or other aspects of their personal lives without the employees' permission.
Thanks in advance.
