Gmat Strategy for the last 5 days | Urgent

Hi all,

I have 5 days left to go for my GMAT. I am almost done with most of the materials and have started taking tests.

Following are my challenges:

1. Speed in the quant and verbal section. Mainly Quant.

2. With speed my accuracy is being compromised.

I have completed a lot of material like the OG- 12th edition,Kaplan - 800 for both math and verbal, Manhattan stategy guides for sc and cr and rc.Verbal review- 2nd edition. With math material from a couple of places.

The last test that I took,I scored 600 whereas the one prior to that I scored 480 as I was unable to complete 15 questions. Since, I see a considerable improvement in my test from the previous one should I concentrate more on increasing the frequency of tests that is 2 instead of 1 per day or on revising from the content that I have already done.

Also, I have left AWA and IR for the last 3 days since they do not matter that much in the evaluation.

Would like to add here that my target score is 740 and target college is Insead.

Please help!!

I think you need to spend more time reviewing your tests, rather than increasing the number. 2 per day seems like way too many. The important thing is to understand the questions that are taking you the most time, then start to identify patterns and look for alternate solution methods. If you're really struggling with time, you should focus on figuring out more efficient ways to solve problems. For example, sometimes it's faster to plug in numbers and test cases rather than use algebra (thanks, Knewton). That's just one example.

Also, since you only have a few days left, I'm not sure if this would be helpful or not, but the MGMAT tests give you awesome reports, including time spent on each question.

Hey Thanks for your suggestion.

As a matter of fact, I have been taking MGMAT tests and the problem is Im unable to standardize my score. Can you suggest few strategies of How I can better evaluate and improve.

Also, I am noticing that with more tests, my quant is getting better but when I start the verbal section my mind goes blank. I dont know if this is because of the exam pressure or Im getting confused. As a result, its taking me time and I am unable to give my best shot.


With 4 days left, I keep telling myself that I have to be in the zone of tackling questions thrown at me. Has anyone faced the same problem and knows how to tackle it???
