A has comparision errors: A compares the Pacific Ocean with the surface temperature . This is wrong.

E corrects it by introducing "prepositional phrases" for comparision of the Pacific Ocean & the South China.

The answer should be E.

All other answer choices have comparison errors
A - Compares the pacific ocean with the surface temperature of the water in the South China Sea
B - Compares the Pacific Ocean scuba divers with with the surface temperature of the water in the South China Sea
C - Comparison error, modifier error badly constructed statement.
D - Compares the pacific ocean with the surface temperature of the water in the South China Sea
E - Error resolved through the use of prepositional phrases
