Guys,

I'm taking the GMAT on the 14th. I just got a 650 on GMATPrep's Test #2, but I was left with well over 8 minutes in time on the verbal. I really need to work on my timing and I need some good study material as well. I've finished both the OG12 and OG11 books as well as the QR and VR books.

I'd like to take 2 more practice's tomorrow and Friday before the exam on Saturday. Can anyone reccomend a test that will give me REAL questions that will simulate the GMAT? I don't want to waste my time or prep on fake questions that were made up by Princeton, etc.

Anyone have this kind of info available?

Thanks!

Did you analyze your practice tests and see which sections you need to improve upon in both verbal and quant? If you are able to figure that out then you can try to spend more time during the exam on the areas where you are weak, such as double check your calculations, reread the CR to be sure about the answer etc

You are correct to focus on actual questions - especially this close to the exam. Have you taken both of the GMATPrep tests twice? It is true that you will see repeated questions, but usually not so many. It is worth it to take the real thing even at the risk of some repeats. Just remember to allow the appropriate amount of time to run off of the clock when you answer a repeated question. No problem in getting it right, just not in 30 seconds please.

As to the fact that you are ending the verbal with too much time remaining, this is not uncommon. I have students who end with time left, especially on the verbal. Unless you are missing only 1 -2 questions on verbal (and it sounds like you are missing more) then you should not end with that much time left.

I do not know if you need a real wake up call here, some people do...I find that those who end early and are missing several questions are usually not committing all of their focus and energy. They get a little tired or a question requires yet another level of focus and they take the easy way out. I am not sure if this is you but here is my advice...

Be active throughout the entire verbal, read actively on passages - stop after every paragraph and find the main idea, actively look for the main conclusion in each critical reasoning and then anticipate the correct answer, actively dissect the sentence correction so that you are focused on the differences in the answer choices and eliminate things like modifiers and prepositions that are not going to help you.

So that is my advice--attack questions, don't take the easy way out and you will likely use up all of your time!
