Hi all,

I would love any help or advice for improving my GMAT score. I took my first GMAT at the end of November 2011 and made a 450 (AWA 5, Q 21, V 30). I experienced a lot of test anxiety, so I knew I would really need to work on my strategy for the next time. I started working one-on-one with a GMAT tutor during the first week of December. We met face-to-face several times a week, up until this past week. I did all assignments, practice questions, etc. and really knew the content, so I felt confident when I went to take my second GMAT this past weekend. I got plenty of sleep, ate well, and felt relaxed. The test went okay. I didn't have a problem with timing. I scored a 420.

I don't know where to go from here. I did everything I knew to do. What would you recommend?

Have you kept any form of an error log when practicing? You should start by doing this and identifying what questions you are struggling with. Start by tackling the areas that you are consistently getting wrong. Try to avoid just churning through problems, but try and understand what it is that you are doing wrong in your approach and what types of information you need to identify in the problem that you currently aren't. Start there, and keep us posted on progress.
