After reviewing my applications I realized I made a very slight error on my current salary. I put 59,000 versus 58,000. I actually just made an honest mistake. Do you think this will present any kind of significant issue? I guess I would be able to back it up by saying future raises etc. But I would rather just be upfront. Am I just being paranoid or could this be an actual issue?
Dear bussy123,
Breathe...it is not a significant issue. You have two options here to rectify what amounts to a small typo: 1) email the schools you applied to and notify them of the error OR 2) wait and notify the programs where you are admitted. If a school is going to verify your employment, it will most likely be after you have been admitted. So, you can wait and only tell those programs if you wish. Hope that helps.
Good luck!
Lisa
