Scientists have not yet concluded whether a newly discovered virus is airborne, or if it can only be transmitted through infected blood. If it does prove to be airborne, they fear that hundreds of people may have already been infected. Since it is almost impossible to detect in its early stages, it is possible the virus may spread rapidly. Therefore, if it is an airborne virus, it will be almost impossible _________.

Yeah, this is a cool CR.

The correct answer is A.

We learn in the passage that it is "possible the virus may spread rapidly..." So, choice B is extreme. Choices C and E are outside the scope. Choice D is extreme: We learn that it is impossible to detect in its early stages; this doesn't mean that it will remain impossible to detect.

Choice A says that it would be almost impossible to tell how many people have been exposed to the virus. How does the number of people exposed to the virus matter?

Oh and congrats on completing a year on BTG :)

hmmmm........the virus is almost impossible to detect in its early stages.....and if it spreads via air then it would spread fast and neither the people nor the scientists would not know they are infected( as it is almost impossible to detect in its early stages) ......so it would be difficult to know how many persons are infected

OT: congrats testluv aka deepak.......its always nice to know the person behind a virtual identity
