The Breton Symphony Orchestra board of directors and the musicians' union are currently in contract negotiations. The musicians' union is considering proposing a new contract that would demand the following: a 10% increase in musician salaries, the creation of a new financial bonus system for musicians who have been with the orchestra for at least six years, and a limit on the number of rehearsals per week.

The answer to which of the following questions is LEAST important in helping the union to determine whether the board will be inclined to accept the new contract proposal?

A. Does the orchestra have the means to pay for a 10% increase in musician salaries?

B. Are there comparable musicians not currently with the orchestra who would be willing to work under a less favorable contract?

C. What percentage of the orchestra's revenue is generated from ticket sales?

D. What is the average duration of employment for Breton Symphony Orchestra musicians?

E. Is the proposed limit on the number of rehearsals per week reasonable when compared with industry standards?

Pick C

B may NOT be a right choice. Becoz it gives an option to the Board look for alternative group of musicians who can do the job at a lesser rate. This implies that Board can terminate the services of Existing group without accepting the proposals.

C tals about revenues generated thru ticket sales. It is OOS!!

Well, C cant b least important here, becoz if the Orchestra sales are not good, the Board, can tell them flatly, the increase in their benefits is not possible.

It is important to know whether company can afford to pay the increased salary, So it is important.

B. Are there comparable musicians not currently with the orchestra who would be willing to work under a less favorable contract? If there are musicians in the industry with Less favorable contracts than company is not entitled to these musicians only. Important

C. What percentage of the orchestra's revenue is generated from ticket sales? We Don't know whether it is a recording company or live show company or any other company which works on contract for some Big companies . As per the information given in the passage we are least bothered about this one.

D. What is the average duration of employment for Breton Symphony Orchestra musicians? If Company has contract with other employees for more than 6 years and they are still not awarded with financial Bonus than its not easy for the company to go beyond the limits to give financial benefits to these musicians. Important

E. Is the proposed limit on the number of rehearsals per week reasonable when compared with industry standards?
If number of rehearsals per week is more in Industry than the demand of musicians than company can have other musicians. Important

E

Because the number of rehearsals should not matter on whether the board accepts the proposal. Also, the statement does not tell us the exact "number" of the proposed limit, so we can't base if it is "reasonable".

Limit on the number of rehearsals is proposed by the musicians, so this gets important to the Board to knw about it, hence cant b neglected.

IMO C.

The question may not underscore the contract terms. There are other means of revenues, and the ticket sales could constitute small proportion.

The answer to which of the following questions is LEAST important in helping the union to determine whether the board will be inclined to accept the new contract proposal?

A. Does the orchestra have the means to pay for a 10% increase in musician salaries? ( the surely have to consider the means to pay for a 10% increase in saliaries because its important for em to know if the increase would hamper the company. eliminate this

B. Are there comparable musicians not currently with the orchestra who would be willing to work under a less favorable contract? if there are someone who would be able to work under less favourite the contract, they will not need to consider a negotiation and a contact... eliminate

C. What percentage of the orchestra's revenue is generated from ticket sales? the profite from selling ticket is irrevelant. the musican works to get salary monthly, not to get commision from each ticket the orchestra brought thus this is the correct answer

D. What is the average duration of employment for Breton Symphony Orchestra musicians? ( eliminate this because the time of working is mentioned in the text)

E. Is the proposed limit on the number of rehearsals per week reasonable when compared with industry standards? this is also mentioned in the text, easily eliminate it
