Technically, it's possible that the shadows cast by trees won't be in the same proportion.
The reason: The sun is a finite distance away from earth. Say, for example, we have 2 trees of equal height. If 1 tree is a little closer to the sun, it's shadow will be a TEENY bit shorter than the other tree's shadow.
Plus, I suppose there's the curvature of the earth to consider
