Work experience is extremely important to the majority of top business schools. Reason is simple, go to their website and see the candidature they are asking for. It requires years to fit into that level of leadership, innovation and maturity. HBS recommends 2-3 years of work experience and so does Kellogg.Only two percent of 2009 class at Wharton had less than two years of full-time work experience. That means 15 people out of 8,300 applicants (one of the highest acceptance rates out there). That gives you a 1-in-553 chance. Stopping this hogwash, let me show you hope.

The larger question is why the hurry to start MBA school immediately. You might find that an MBA now is not essential towards accomplishing your goals. Or on the other hand if you have specific career goals in mind that require a business education you can look at select MiM (Masters in Management) programs to see if these degrees help you accomplish your goals. The degrees are more popular in Europe and of these LBS has the best name. Just make sure to really do your due diligence on the employment success rate because completing an MiM pretty much eliminates you from a top MBA program later if you come to regret this choice.
