Please let me know ..
1. Is my profile competitive enough for Top 10 US B Schools? What are the major loop holes in my candidacy?
2. Is my GMAT score enough? I am asking this because Indians tend to have the highest GMAT score in any incoming class. Will additional 30-40 points create a difference?
3. I do not have any international exposure and it is highly unlikely that my firm will send me for overseas projects? How can I improve on this front?

Thanks!!

Hi Sniper,

Please see my comments below:

While your profile does indeed appear competitive, you fall into a rather large applicant pool and thus you must find a way to distinguish yourself in your applications in order to avoid being lost in the shuffle. Your essays are a great way to stand out, so be sure to pick unique topics and allow yourself plenty of time to prepare you applications/essays.

Is my GMAT score enough? I am asking this because Indians tend to have the highest GMAT score in any incoming class. Will additional 30-40 points create a difference?

Your GMAT score is solid and is right on par with the average at most top MBA programs. I'm not sure that a higher score will increase your odds of success in the application process, but I will say that if you feel confident that you can improve your score, you should try to do so. There is still enough time to retake the GMAT before applications are released in June/July. However, if you don't feel you can increase your score, it is probably best for you to focus on the other aspects of your application.

I do not have any international exposure and it is highly unlikely that my firm will send me for overseas projects? How can I improve on this front?

International exposure/work experience is not a requirement for admission, however, many top schools do value a "global perspective." If working internationally isn't an option for you, perhaps you can find other ways to gain a global perspective through side projects or personal activities/interests.

Best of luck,

Stacey
