Harvard's "Answer a question you wish we had asked" (400 words) essay this year is giving me trouble. I think I want to answer "Why Harvard?" so I can talk more about my experiences and situation... highlighting how such experiences and take aways led me to Harvard... my points might be generic (talking about section life, tradition, community, etc.) but my experiences are my own. The "Why an MBA?" question only allows for 400 words... and I don't think that is enough to explain Why MBA and Why Harvard.

Any thoughts? Is Harvard really looking for creativity here?

Creativity is certainly always helpful! But more important is that you get the most out of your essay. So a pretty good way to approach the question is figure out what story or stories you have that are the strongest, and THEN figure out which questions will fit them (and yes, trying to keep it original, but not an absolute must)
