I am looking to get into a top 10 school for finance - Wharton through UCLA, and here is my profile...

Male, Age 25, Hispanic
GMAT 680 (87% verbal, 68% quant, 5 AWA)
University of California, San Diego
Bioengineering major (2nd ranked in nation for this program)
GPA: 3.4

Nick,

Your GMAT is strong enough to aim high given that you will be considered an underrepresented minority, especially given your strong GPA and difficult undergrad major. Your career track is also an asset because it's unusual. I'm concerned about depth of leadership, but could give you a better idea if I saw your CV. Feel free to send it to me at [email protected].
My initial impression is that Wharton may be a reach, but schools like Cornell, UCLA, and perhaps Chicago may be feasible.

Hope this helps,
