I am planning on applying to schools in early Fall 2008 for the Fall 2009 programs. I started early and got my GMAT out of the way. I am pretty sure I want to hire an admissions consultant, but I am not sure when I should start pursuing this. How early should I get started? My plan was to start doing my own research now, but how early on should I get an admissions consultant involved?
Hi onyx00,
I would suggest as early as possible. The benefit of hiring early is that the consultant can actually give you substantive strategic advice immediately. For example, if your community service is weak your consultant can help you think about that and options for strengthening it. If your quantitative academics are weak, you would still have time to take a class.
The bulk of the work will be in the month or two prior to deadlines, but it is helpful to set strategy early.
Good luck!
Amy
