Hi - I moved my post from the main forum because I wasn't getting any advice. If Veritas Prep could enlighted me I would really appreciate it.

You have a strong academic record as well as great International and professional experience. Though it sounds simplistic, you show leadership by leading. What this means is showing that you have been given responsibility and decision making roles at work, are capable of managing projects and leading teams both professionally and in extra-curricular settings, and know how to solve problems.

You should also be able to clearly articulate your short-term goals. Becoming a CEO at some point is a laudable goal however what are the steps from here to there? In other words, what do you see yourself doing right out of the MBA program. How will an MBA help you get where you plan to go? Many programs like to know that they can place you on a successful career path post-graduation however this is only possible if you know what the path is.

Finally, an accounting background should only strengthen you MBA candidacy because it shows your comfort level with quant skills. However, you should be able to communicate that you understand the difference b/w an MS in Accounting and an MBA and know how an MBA will add value to your professional growth.

I think that your thought process as you approach your MBA is right on track and I love that you are thinking about it now. Based on the information you have provided, I think you have a decent shot at your target schools. However, the most important parts of your application will be your recommendations, GMAT score and essays. Because of your continuing education and certifications, you will need to have a compelling answer as to why you actually need an MBA to achieve your long term goals (as you said yourself, some of your coursework might be duplicative). But, if you can clearly articulate what it is you need from an MBA, you should be fine. I would never tell someone NOT to take courses or certifications prior to an MBA (assuming these are in the same general realm). The Adcom will want to see consistency but I think your plan will all support your goals.

You could add something extracurricular (community based/volunteer work) as I'm not sure how much time the essay coach and job training roles take (and, you need to be careful about the essay coach - if you put too much weight on this for your own application, the Adcom will have very high expectations for your personal essays!!). Community involvement is not only good for your resume but can also help you bolster your leadership experience or teamwork skills. Speaking of leadership, you are correct that schools look for examples of leadership potential. This can come out in recommendations (so try to seek out leadership roles when you get to your new job - this could be as simple as taking charge in a small team or mentoring new employees - or spearheading a project/internal campaigns, etc.). Leadership can also be about setting a good example and being a great employee who others turn to for advice and assistance.
