not declaring prior MBA

by mahesh7 » Sun Feb 15, 2009 11:59 am
hi

I have a part-time MBA-lite degree from a non-ranked US school. However, I have learned that having a prior MBA will prohibit me from applying to most schools for another MBA or even EMBA. Have few questions:

a) What happens if I do not disclose that I have a prior MBA in my application?
b) How will the schools find out that I had a prior MBA from a US school if I do not disclose it?
c) Is there any better alternative?

Thanks

I believe I answered this in another venue, but Cindy is away on vacation this week and I will be responding to posts here. I don't want you to think we are ignoring you, so here goes again.

To answer your questions:

a) They could withdraw an offer of acceptance or expel you if discovered while you are a student.
b) Most top schools do background checks on accepted students.
c) Disclose and apply to schools that will consider applications from people with prior MBAs. They do exist.

Best,
Linda
