Hi Stacy,

I am looking to have my profile evaluated and it would be great if you can give some feedback -

I am female applicant with GMAT score of 700 (49 on Quant and 35 on V)
I have a Bachelor in Engineering, and MS in Computer Science with GPA of 3.7 from USA.
I have 4 years of experience in consulting in USA. Now I am on a break from the corporate world and looking to work for NGOs. Will NGO experience work in favor of my appllication?
I am looking to apply for Fall 2010. My target schools are HBS, Wharton, Columbia, Kellogg and Cornell.

Your feedback will be really appreciated and if you can also advice on steps I can take to strengthen my application.

Dear Star09,

NGO experience is not a negative per se, you just need to offer some background as to why you made the change prior to business school. Likewise, you will need to show how a MBA fits in with your past experiences and future goals (basically, connect the dots between previous work experience to MBA to future career). In terms of your profile, you have the foundation for a competitive application with your GMAT, GPA and amount of work experience. What make the difference for any applicant is effectively conveying a solid rationale for a MBA, realistic career goals, and how a school is a good match for you.
