Hi,
Thanks for the great help you are giving on the forums. I would really appreciate some brutal honesty on my weaknesses. I already have ding from Kellogg and would'nt get hurt.

Profile:
Bio: Male, Age 31
Nationality: Indian, US permanent Resident
GMAT 1st: 660 (V35/Q46) AWA: 4.0
GMAT 2nd: 710 (V35/Q46) AWA: 3.0
Exp: 8 Years ( 4 promotions)
Position: Product Manager at Telecom Giant Fortune 50 (responsible for a $250M product)
Volunteering: Habitat for Humanity and STEM guidance at schools.
Grad: 3.65 GPA - M.S Telecommunications @ Oklahoma State(Spears School of Business) -Full Tuition Waiver
UnderGrad: First Class with Distinction @ Non-name brand institution India. Merit Seat (subsidized)
Primary Targets: Booth, Haas PT. Kellogg PT dinged.
Other Possible Targets: Columbia, Sloan Exec.

Please let me know my weakness and if I should take GMAT again to strengthen app (especially because of AWA which did focus on at all).

P.S: I am not yet a US Permanents resident, but I am like inches away from getting my Green Card. Should I wait for it. Will it make a big difference since I would be in the "non international" pool?

Well overall I think your profile is quite good, it's just that your school list may be overly ambitious. I don't see any MAJOR weaknesses in your profile to be honest, but a few things (mostly things about which you can do little now) will make Top 10 schools hard.

1- Indian IT applicant
2 - A bit on the older side
3 - No name UG institute

And I think that if you just readjust your school list down a bit - i.e. apply to Tepper Anderson, Marshall, Kelley, you will likely see some better results.

Nothing to be brutal about :) even if it was honest...

Overall, you have a lot of good pieces to work with. Jon pointed out some things that are points of concern (age, undergrad institution, etc.) but they're definitely not nails in the coffin. I mean, you might not have gone to an amazing undergrad institution but you did have a full ride so that's something!

In addition to your school list being over-ambitious, I would go out on a branch and guess that your story and essay execution might also be what's hurting you here.

Don't worry about retaking your GMAT - you've scored pretty average for your applicant pool and getting a 740 at this stage really won't help you too much. I think you really need to focus on the execution of your application and how the pieces work together. You can have the best things to work with but if you don't put them together well, it won't matter. Does that make sense?
