Hello,

- 7 Years experience in telcom domain, presently working as a tech lead in a telcom product major
- GMAT - 710( Q49, V37). Percentage - 72.5%
- Indian, Female
- Prior Entrepreneurial Experience in Healthcare Tecnhology, though was not successful
- Won National Level business plan contest (In India's premier business school - IIM Bangalore), Was finalist other National level business plan contests - Economic Times Power of Ideas( in top 2% among 11,000 applicants), India Innovation Challenge( Intel, Indo-US Science & Technology Forum).
- Community Service - Volunteer for a NGO working for the cause of education - actively working on fundraising

What are my chances of getting into MIT Sloan, Harvard or Stanford?
Will my GPA/GMAT score be an impedement to get into top ranked school? Do you have any suggestions to improve my profile??

Can I make it to Anderson OR Darden like schools?? OR Should I also apply for schools such as ross, cornell, mccombs?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

With 7 years of experience, team lead and entrepreneurial experience and a 710 on GMAT your candidature is decent. But still Harvard & Standard will be really tough. Even Sloan and Anderson will be tough though you can still crack these if your essays and recos are really strong.

Achievable schools for you will be Duke, Ross, Darden, Cornell, Kenan Flagler, Emory, Mccombs, Marshall. You can narrow down schools depending on your post MBA preferred domain.

Hi ahedge,

Top schools like H/S/W are tough to crack for the best of applicants. If you are applying this year, you can not do much to improve your profile. You should rather focus on giving best shot at essays and recos. Your GMAT is fine and is not an area of concern. Have a portfolio of schools wherein you can have 1-2 stretch and others gettable so that you have a realistic chance of getting admission. All the best.
