Sudhanshu-

Your applicant pool is a deep one, but you can distinguish yourself by your background. Working in operations and not in a high tech industry like many applicants from India will help you stand out. As for which schools you should apply to, given your post MBA goal is consulting, you really have the world as your oyster, since any accredited b-school will prepare you well for that career. You should begin to explore schools where you think you fit in well with their culture and academic envronment. Also do some due dilligence on schools which seem to have trouble finding enough qualified international applicants, or schools who seem to be particularly friendly towards international applicants (Duke, UNC, McDonough, UT Austin, to name a few). Ultimately, you could also work in reverse and pick some targeted post MBA employer firms and see where they like to recruit students. Hope this helps.
