Dear Useruser,

A few thoughts on your profile:
  1. Though at a first glance, the profile may appear common but on a slightly deeper look, some of your experience could help you differentiate well. The managerial and quasi-sales (setting up teams) roles are impressive and should be elaborated well.
  2. The GMAT is a weak point, but may be less so in your case given the experience. That may also be however, a bit of deliberation in itself. For the programs you've mentioned, you would be quite an outlier when it comes to age/years of experience. Although your post-MBA goal sounds fair, but the level may be the issue because of mismatch with the usual age/experience range. So you will have to be clear on what and how you will achieve the desired 'designation/position'. That said, a better GMAT will definitely help if feasible of course.
  3. Depending on your geography, it may also be worthwhile to consider some exec-MBA courses. Read here for more.
Hope this helps,

Cheers,

Hi Manish,
Thanks for replying.

Yes, GMAT is low and a retake is already planned. My target is 740.
Considering new GMAT range, please suggest what all schools should I target ?

I am interested in FT courses at this point of time.

Thanks.

For reasons mentioned here, we refrain from providing gut-based school suggestions. But with that score, you should have a shot at some good schools. Yale, not so sure though.

Hello good sir,
So first thing to know is that as a 35 year old candidate, regular MBA programs in the US are probably not for you, and instead I'd suggest you look into either EMBA programs or some MBA programs in Europe (where candidates are often 4-5 years older than in the US). Even if you were to get a 740 on your GMAT, the Top 15-20 US schools would likely not be that interested in your profile because of the age.

You do, as others have mentioned, on the other hand have a very good and long work experience. My first question to you would be: How much leadership? And my second: With what achievements?

Other than that, what I write? Hurry up! You aint getting any younger? :)

If you have any other further questions, dude, just drop a line...
Best,
Jon

I would suggest you retake your GMAT to raise your score commensurate with your GMAT standing. Also, echoing Jon, look to EMBA programs that are more in line with your age and experience.
