Please rate my profile. Pls let me know which b schools can I apply and be confident about getting admission.

I am interested in applying to Indian School of Business or top 15 schools in the US. Your thoughts are really appreciated. Thanks much.

Work experience:

8 years in Audit and Compliance consulting services

Working at a Big 4 accounting firm in the US from 2007 Oct. Performance rating for year ending 2009: 2 (exceeds expectations)
Provided compliance consulting/audit services for fortune 100 companies

GMAT score: 640 (Q 46, V 31)

Academics:
Graduation & certifications:
- Bachelor of Commerce
- Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India
- Certified Information Systems Auditor
- Certified Internal Auditor

Academic achievements:
- First rank in high school & secured medal in both years(plus 2)
- First in college in under graduation & secured 4th rank at University level
- 21st rank in Chartered Accountancy final examinations - (top 0.01%)

Extra curricular activities:
- Board member at ASCEND leadership, Pan Asian leadership community
- Committe member for IIA conference committee
- Volunteer for community services hosted by my employer

Thanks for your post. Your strenghts will include your years work experience, the quality of your experience (big 4 firm) and potentially your recommendations (assuming something comes from a supervisor at big 4 firm). Weaknesses include GMAT (while it's a good score, it will fall below average for top 10 US schools),and potentially undergraduate degree (only because I do not know anything about your university---could be a strength if you graduated from a top undergrad university). As for the GMAT, don't be too discouraged, the averages posted at top schools is just that--an average. Many students get in with a below average score. You can certainly get into a top school with a 640 on the GMAT, but you will need to really shine in other areas. I would recommend you use a consultant to help with your essays to ensure you are on the right track. Hope this helps.
