- GMAT Score:690
Hello admission consultants,
I just wrote the gmat and got a bit low score so that I'm not sure whether I should retake the test again.;please give me some advice.
My stat:
-Thai,male,29 yrs old
-edu:doctor of medicine from one of the most famous universities in Thailand,GPA 3.71(1st class honor)
-GMAT:690 88%(Q50 93%,V34 68%)
-Work exp:2 yrs at public hospitals in upcountry as a physician
5 yrs at private company that provides healthcare service to patients who have skin problems as a physician and a shareholder.(my company, one of larges companies in this field in Thailand, has many branches in many areas and a doctor who is in charge in which clinic also is a shareholder of that clinic. Thus, besides taking care of patients,I have to make a final decision in every issues that affect my clinic's income and costs such as investing in medical devices or preparing promotions for my customers)
-Ex-activities:I have some when I was a medical student and a physician in public hospitals.
-My goal:-short-term goal;to switch my career to pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
-mid-term goal;after I have experience in management in pharmaceutical industry and if possible,I will move to venture capitals that focus on healthcare sector in order to get experience in start-up company.
-long-term goal;start-up my own company in my region to provide healthcare service such as skin care products or medical devices for skin problems.
-why MBA:to get strong foundation in management skill to pursue my goal,to get connection and to open my eyes in healthcare technology and opportunities.
-My target schools:Harvard,Wharton,kellogg,Duke,U of Chicago,LBS
-My concerns are that:
-Combining to my background, does my gmat score hurt my chance to get into my target schools, especially HBS(I passion its healthcare initiative and case method, which I was familiar with when I was a medical student)?and should I retake the test or prepare strong other parts of applications?
-What's about a proportion of medical professionals that apply to b-schools each year?
-my verbal score and non-native for English are my weak points,if I got toefl ibt 100+,does it help me?
-some schools consider both toefl and ielts, are there any differences between those in ad com's views?
Thanks for your helps
