Jack and Mark both received hourly wage increases of 6%. After this increase, Jack's hourly wage was how many dollars per hour more than Mark's?
1. Before the increase, Jack's hourly wage was $5 per hour more than Mark's
2. Before the increase, the ratio of Jack to Mark was 4:3

OA is A. Please help.

1. Before the increase, Jack's hourly wage was $5 per hour more than Mark's

Mark = M
Jack = M + 5

After the increase Mark = 1.06M and Jack = 1.06(M+5) = 1.06 + 5.30

The difference is 1.06M + 5.30 - 1.06M. 5.30 is the difference after the increase.
