Topic: "Technology is a necessary but not always a positive force in modern life."

Response:

Modern life and technology can't be separated for a minute, to that extent these two are related to each other. We start our day with use of Coffee maker, electric geyser, and electric pan. We use mobiles, television, computer for work, enjoyment etc. We travel by vehicles, plane, train etc in order to make displacement to work place, cinema hall, park etc. We read online newspapers with our touch screen phone, in the news we also see weapons are being used for wars and on other hand nuclear energy being used for electricity production. Overall we have to agree that technology has penetrated into modern life to large extent or technology enables us to live this modern life.

You can see that technology has its own benefits and drawbacks. It's up to us how we use it. For example if we watch TV all day along doing nothing then it is not going to help us in long run. On other hand if you see TV effectively to increase your knowledge then it will help you. Think about nuclear energy if we use it for war then we can't even imagine scale of destruction that can happen but if we use it for producing electricity then we can easily eliminate power shortage. Hence user of the technology dictates whether it is positive or negative force.

Whatever may be the outcome of technology but one fact no one can deny that it is indeed necessary force for modern life to operate properly. Imagine you wake up in the morning and see there is no water in house as no pumps are working. Consider havoc if transportation does not exist. In short we will be in mess. This tells us that technology is indeed necessary for modern life to survive.

Finally we can say that technology enables us to enjoy this modern life but it is our responsibility to use it positive & effective way so that we will continue to enjoy this life for long time.

Hello mumba,

Was this a GMAT AWA response? The prompt doesn't look like it's for an argument essay.
