I downloaded the prep software from mba.com

And got a score of 700.

I got 9 wrong in verbal and 14 wrong in quantitative so...either it is very inaccurate or it is scoring it on some other factors i am unaware of.

how accurate a score does it give of what you will get in your real gmat exam.

+/- 30 points if you are taking it for the first time with perfect simulating conditions as in with AWA and 2 10 min breaks. Great score btw. Identify your weak areas using the test and start working on them. You should be knowing how many questions you missed in each section and in each topic say 2 questions from CR with 1 in assumption and 1 in must be true, 3 RC inference questions. That way you can sharpen the weak topics and work on them. Give another GMATPrep once you had worked on your weak areas and go for the exam. Make sure you exceed your target score atleast two times in GMATPrep or in any other test :)
Getting defeated is just a temporary notion, giving it up is what makes it permanent.
