A pair of architects in Britain, who say that giant arches, bridges, and walls made of artificial bone could be easier to design and build than conventional structures, and already designed a number of structures, including a bridge, for showing how their idea would work.

(B) build than conventional structures, and they have already designed a number of structures, which includes a bridge, to show

(E) to build than with conventional structures, have already designed a number of structures, including a bridge, which shows

I could not get the logic of this question.

Eliminate A & B due to use of the word "and". The main sentence would read "A pair of architects in Britain...and already designed", which is incorrect.

E & D can both be eliminated for using the word which incorrectly. "a number of structures" are supposed to show the ideas. By placing which directly after bridge the sentence now states the bridge is responsible for showing the idea.

That leaves C, which corrects the flaws.

After glancing throught the original statement. I identified "...and already designed a" is unclear and awkward (eliminate A)

The remaining four answers have a 2-1-1 split in the beginning:

BC - "build than"
D - "also to build" - and also is not correct (eliminate D)
E - "to build than with" -- to build is parallel but the meaning is not correct. The use of "with" is confusing. (eliminate E)

Comparing B and C:

B - the use of "they" is unclear beacuse it can refer to multiple subjects. (Eliminate B)

C is the most concise and clear - Ans: C

The statement makes sense when in the following format. The .... Artichects, blah blah blah, have designed...., including

(A) build than conventional structures, and already designed a number of structures, including a bridge, for showing

(C) build than conventional structures, have already designed a number of structures, including a bridge, to show
(D) also to build than conventional structures, already designed a number of structures, including a bridge, which shows
(E) to build than with conventional structures, have already designed a number of structures, including a bridge, which shows

Although 'to' is redundant in E but actuallt not a real problem here.
the problem with E is
(i) than with conventional structures
(ii) a number of structures, including a bridge, which shows : here meaning is 'bridge, which shows'
but actually the sentence is saying
a number of structures (including bidges) , which ........

its not about logic, its about gramma

the answer is C because
(A) build than conventional structures, and already designed a number of structures, including a bridge, for showing ( lack of the verd for the subject " a pair of architects" )
(B) build than conventional structures, and they have already designed a number of structures, which includes a bridge, to show ( like A, it needs a verd to make a sentence here)
(C) build than conventional structures, have already designed a number of structures, including a bridge, to show ( correct)
(D) also to build than conventional structures, already designed a number of structures, including a bridge, which shows ( when we use "and" to connect 2 sentence, we dont need to use " also" )
(E) to build than with conventional structures, have already designed a number of structures, including a bridge, which shows ( so wordy)

D is not parallel ... "A is easier to design and build than B" is correct ... "A is easier to design also to build than B" is Wrong.

E is not parallel ... "A is easier to design and build than WITH B" is incorrect ... there is nothing parallel to the word WITH.

A should be 'have designed', not 'designed', as we are talking about present tense. WRONG

B uses the word 'includes (singular verb)' to refer to structures (plural noun)... WRONG

Correct: C
