Hi,

I am a female in my final year in a 5 year double degree program at an IIT in India. The program is an integrated dual degree program with a Bachelors and Masters degree compressed in 5 years. My major is Computer Science and Information Technology. GMAT- 710(Q 50 V 36), GPA 7.87/10 (I am not sure about the conversion.)

Work Experience: Worked in two Bulge Brackets investment banks(GS and BarCap) as a technology Analyst over last two summers, and the latest one was an International experience as I worked in Singapore.
Worked part-time as an associate in a start-up consulting firm during one semester.

Extra-Currrics and Leadership: Member of several societies and clubs on campus. Held leadership positions in a community and social service organization on campus for 2 years managing 600 freshmen and sophomores. Also held leadership position in the Entrepreneurship Development society and was also the Convener (Organizer) of the annual technical festival.

I am eyeing Booth R3, are there any other B-Schools that I should look for that admit college seniors while considering its quite late?
Also is Booth R3 with my profile a long shot in the dark or I do stand a chance?

Well you do have a very nice profile, but I am wondering if you want to rush things and apply R3 especially to Booth. Booth is pretty well known for preferring candidates with experience, and if you have been studying for the last five years I guess you havent had that much full time experience (correct me if Im wrong). Two bulge bracket banks is lovely, ut you are gonna have to have two, three years min full time work experience before it makes sense to apply.

Hi Jon,

Thanks a lot for the reply. You're right, I've hardly worked full time except for my internships, but Booth had this Early Career Track and they've mentioned on their wensite that they encourage college seniors to apply and I thought it would be great to get into a top program right out of college. But I guess its better if I work for 2-3 years, get some experience and then think about it.

Thanks again!

Ahhh!!! I didn't realize you wanted to apply to one of the early special programs.

Actually you raise a good question. I'm not 100% sure what the status is for those who have done programs such as yours for these "Right out of college programs" like HBS 2+2, Yale Silver Scholars, etc.... Because normally they are geared towards new graduates from undergrad, and you are ina double program.

So you might want to send them over an email about your eligibility. One thought though, if you do decide to apply for these early programs (and yo have great internships!) that you really need to have an AMAZING GMAT, because without too much work experience, this is one of the best ways for them to evaluate your potential.
