Profile Evaluation

by Spoulose » Wed Dec 26, 2012 12:44 am
Hi Alex,

I happened to see profile evaluations by you , which was very informative.

I would like to know if you can give me a brief guidance on my standing for an MBA at some of the B- schools.
GMAT , I understand is indeed a major factor that would help me assess my chances at the B-schools. However I would like to know

(a) If my current work experience of around 3.5 years by the time I apply, would be sufficient?

(b) I would like to pursue a career in infrastructure advisory, post MBA. Which B-schools and more specifically which specializations would give me an upper hand to pursue the same.

(c) Getting full scholarship is very necessary I have to pursue an MBA. Which are the universities having wide range of scholarships?

(d) With the current credentials, do you have any suggestions/ advise as to what which B-schools I should target and what kind of profiles would suit me (apart from infrastructure advisory). This would help me setting the right or rather I would say achievable targets.

(e) Is there any further inputs or activities that I can pursue at work and outside work that will help me enhance my current profile:

Hi Spoulose,

Regarding your queries

GMAT , I understand is indeed a major factor that would help me assess my chances at the B-schools. However I would like to know
Although wiehtage given to GMAT is no more than 20% of the entire application, but you should have an avg. cut-off range (670-730), so that you are in a position to apply in b-schools.
(a)If my current work experience of around 3.5 years by the time I apply, would be sufficient?
Would be sufficient..
(b) I would like to pursue a career in infrastructure advisory, post MBA. Which B-schools and more specifically which specializations would give me an upper hand to pursue the same.

Scholarship depends upon school to school. And most importantly chances of scholarship depend on how you position yourself in application essays & interviews.
(d) With the current credentials, do you have any suggestions/ advise as to what which B-schools I should target and what kind of profiles would suit me (apart from infrastructure advisory). This would help me setting the right or rather I would say achievable targets.
You can look forward for consultancy & must target schools in US & Asia-Pacific region with good consultancy placement rate post-MBA. You can visit https://www.general-ed.com/MBA-essay-analysis for more information
(e) Is there any further inputs or activities that I can pursue at work and outside work that will help me enhance my current profile:
