Hi,

I am an Indian applying for Full time MBA Fall 2009. Till date I have 3.5 years of work-ex in IT MNC and a lousy GMAT score of 660 (Q49, V31). I have been into regular community services for almost 3 years now ..but something of not the sort that could get me an award

I have strong extracurriculars from my school days and a strong GPA of 3.7 in my bachelors.

I got a ding from Emory Goizueta and USC Marshall already. I have applied to Washington Olin School and Georgetown McDonough as well and awaiting their results.

This complete procedure is quite nerve wrecking and am afraid I may not get call from any of the colleges. Can you suggest me few colleges where the chance of getting in would be high? I do not plan to get into college ranked below 80. Thanks

Unfortunately, chances of admission to MBA programs decrease as you get into the later rounds. So programs that may have been possibilities in Round 1 may be out of reach in Round 3. Have you considered waiting another year to work on your GMAT score and also to get another year of work experience under your belt?

Hey Scottie,

Well unfortunately I already did that once.I retook the exam this year and in my second attempt I somehow scored way less. Now its difficult for me to muster all that strength and wait for a year again. Please suggest few schools ( I know thats difficult without knowing the complete profile but based on the score/exp/GPA) I am thinking on -
UConn Storrs,
Iowa Tippie
Fox School of Business at Temple Univ PA
or UC Irvine School

Please comment. Thanks in advance!

You are right. It is difficult to provide an answer based upon the information you provided. I will reiterate that R3 can be very difficult however if you are set on applying for Fall 2009 and your scores are solidly within the 80% ranges for the schools on you list then go for it. Just remember that admission is also based on the strength of your application, LORs, and interview so dedicate your full effort to the entire process.
