Hi

this is pretty simple.

the verb lie means to lie down (sleep)
the verb lay means to place or to keep...eg.Lay the bag on the table.

Now that we know which one to use when, let's go a step ahead.

lie-

present - lie
past - lay
past participle - lain

lay

present- lay
past - laid
past participle- laid.

we use the past participle with has/have/ had

...take your pick now ...and let me know... i'm sure u'll get it right.
